Beautifully said! I stopped watching all news decades ago and I used to be a news junky. Had FB for a short while and deleted that about 6 years ago. The last 2 years had made me step back in only to personally see just how corrupt the media.

When this war is won I strongly feel we need to keep the momentum going and eliminate all subsidies to the media in Canada. They need to survive on their own merits. (Insert hysterical laughing emoji)

That advice absolutely works in the US as well. We don't need to pay money for this 'news' garbage, we should be able to get it for free. It's like encouraging an addict by paying for his habit, the act of subsidizing news.

Let them lie for free!

This article explains why I do not have cable or satellite TV. Nor do I pay for online programming. I am only aware of the effects of the media because so many people believe and behave in ways that boggle my mind. It is surreal.

Julie and I have been trying to figure out the new media landscape. I generally like the idea of Substack and similar platforms. We pay for a lot of different Substacks. There are still good reporters and organizations out there. I hate being forced to pay for CBC's garbage through my taxes, but I do like being able to support people like Glenn Greenwald, or the Coffee and COVID guy. Some awesome folks out there!!

OMG, yes!

MSM 'info' is so tilted that the 'information' is useless. The only real reason to listen to the likes of CNN or read the Wash Post, is for amusement after you've already gathered information from a variety of sources. What makes it even trickier, is when a good source for one type of info (say covid) also opines on (say Ukraine) politics. You really cannot come to any kind of a informed decision by the idea of 'in a nutshell'. It just doesn't work IMO consistently.

Bottom line, we all have our biases, but it's better to come to those biases from something a little more 'diverse' than the MSM. It's useless for information.

NOW I'll read this article and see if it conforms to my biases <smile>
